Job Seeker Services Overview
PeopleScreening provides a powerful set of Job Hunting tools to Job Seekers that will expedite the hiring process. These tools include a Resume Builder, Interview Question Wizard, optional Video, Audio or Photo upload, Traditional Resume upload and a Resume Submission and Tracking service.
The following steps make PeopleScreening very easy to use for submitting your Resume to potential Employers. As you go through each form, be sure to remember that almost every field has a little helpful light bulb. By "hovering" your mouse over the light bulb a useful tip will be displayed. Another important point is that uploads are 100% optional...you do not need a video, audio or photo to benefit from this service ... although it helps! We also have a set of 'how-to' tutorials that will walk you through the important steps, click the video camera icon next to each step to watch!
7 Simple Steps to Your New Job
Step 1) Sign Up!
To sign-up, simply complete the short enrollment form about who you are and your email address. For security and privacy we will send you an email confirmation letter that you must reply to in order to upload your resume, video, audio or photo.
Step 2) Complete Your Profile
This is the longest form on the site and it is the most important. Aside from information about you like your name, address and phone this form also asks questions pertaining to your Education, Skills and References. The profile page also contains important information about your account including how many times your resume has been viewed, how many times you have sent your resume out and how many invited employers have actually viewed it!
Step 3) Your Employment History
This is a fairly quick form. Enter your past (or current) employers' information here. Be sure to check the box that states "Please do not contact!" if you would prefer that a potential Employer not contact a given Employer. Not everyone has an employment history, Employers know this. You can include volunteer work or internships here as well.
Step 4) Interview Questions
Pre-answering Interview Questions is a powerful tool that will save both the employer (which they will appreciate) and you time and money. We offer over 40 of the most common interview questions in order of importance. We recommend that you answer the first 5 to 10 questions in writing and also choose 3 to 5 of those questions to answer in your video resume (if you choose to do a video resume).
Step 5) Uploads -- Optional
Steps 2 and 3 are basically a traditional Resume Builder, Step 4 makes you stand-out and Step 5 will make you shine as a Job Candidate. You have the opportunity to upload your existing Resume (if you have one), upload a photo of yourself and/or upload a Video Resume/Video Interview. When people think of Video Resumes they think of people "performing" on camera and posting to unprofessional sites like YouTube, this is not what you want to do. As mentioned in Step 4, you should think of this as a Video Interview. Choose 3 to 5 Interview questions and rehearse them, then record the questions and answers on a video.
Step 6) Send to Employers
Let us help you manage your Resume Submissions. Using our resume sending tool, you simply enter in the email address of the Employer, Recruiter or Headhunter, enter a brief email cover letter and select whether to attach your uploaded resume or the PeopleScreening generated resume and click Send. You can preview each resume before attaching and you can enter in any number of Employers' email addresses, assuming your email cover letter is somewhat generic. Employers typically have a Job, Careers, Human Resources (HR) email address listed at their web site and in job postings. These are typically easy to find as Employers want you to apply!
Step 7) Managing Your Employer Contacts
In Step 6, each Employer you had sent your resume to will create a link and a Sticky-Note icon will be displayed on the Send Page. Clicking on the Icon will take you directly to a Contact Detail page where you should enter in specific information about that Employer. You can also make notes as your Job Hunt progresses. This is another great tool as in 6, 12 or 24 months when you are ready to find a new job all of your past history will be right here waiting for you!
Follow-up, be persistent and dress for success . . . you will land that cool new job!
